Wild Rajasthan
- Tour Overview
Crowned like a piece of jewel glorifying India’s laudable history, Rajasthan- the land of Maharajas is not only limited to its palatial edifices, kaleidoscopic culture, scrumptious cuisine, the place has a reputation of safeguarding the lives of many rare and endangered species in its diverse landforms ranging from sand dunes, pristine lakes, and vast arable fields to the oldest mountain range and deciduous forests. While the small village in Khichan remains a witness to one of the most spectacular migrations of Desmoiselle Cranes, the rugged terrain of Desert National Park is the last surviving region for the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard. Ranthambore National Park, the erstwhile hunting ground for the royals has transformed into the majestic turf for the Bengal Tigers and other astonishing birds and mammals. Bharatpur- the UNESCO World Heritage Site has added another feather to the unique wilderness of Rajasthan.
It is awe-inspiring to see how the vast wetlands of Bharatpur convert into the interim home for the gorgeous migratory species including Bar-headed Goose, Northern Pintail, Lesser Flamingos, Greater Flamingos, Common Pochard, etc, who come all the way from far North and East. If Bharatpur exposes you to the world of migratory birds, Chambal, a few kilometers away from Bharatpur opens a passage to the undisturbed colonies of endemic birds and reptiles such as Indian Skimmer, Black-bellied tern, River Tern, Gharial, Mugger Crocodile, Red-crowned Roofed Turtle, etc. Wild Rajasthan is a carefully designed tour that will make you unfold the unspoilt wilderness of Western India.
